# Signal Alerts

> Real-time Slack alerts when a signal crosses a threshold

A Signal Alert fires when a [signal](/docs/platform/signals.md) spikes. Pick the signal, set a threshold of users or events affected (or alert on every match), and Raindrop posts to Slack as soon as it crosses. They are the real-time half of [Notifications](/docs/platform/notifications.md); written reports are [Briefs](/docs/platform/briefs.md).

## Set one up

[Configure a custom alert](https://app.raindrop.ai/settings/alerts) under **Signal alerts** for any signal, including tool errors. Choose a threshold of users or events affected, or alert on every match. You can also ask the [Triage Agent](/docs/platform/triage-agent.md) in Slack to set one up.

Each alert can be active, snoozed, or disabled. Snooze one when you're already on it and want the channel quiet until it's fixed.
